Lightning Strike Guitars is a custom guitar brand utilising electricity to 'mark' the guitars with unique designs.

I was asked to create a branding which appealed to fans of metal, rock and, to quote my family: “that ‘eat my children’ music”.

My knowledge of everything from music to Norse mythology all played a part in bringing this brand to life.

The Drabblecast is a long-running weird fiction podcast. An avid listener for years, this was my chance to give back to the podcast, rekindling my interest in the medium.

Inspired by authors such as Lovecraft and Meiville, I drew upon the established brand and brief while adding a modern twist. This included a varied brand system, logo, and logotypes.

This was a great opportunity to work with an established brand (over 10 years of podcasting) and add my own spin to their work.

It’s always rewarding to have my personal passions bleed through into a well-received project. I believe all design can be enhanced by even a single seed of research, be it a historical fact or an archaic symbol.
